Off that last link:

"The Danville Regional Foundation was established in July with $200 million. These health foundations typically distribute about 5 percent of their funds each year."

...Danville Regional Foundation is a "health foundation"?

Have you ever stopped to wonder how much interest $200 MILLION would earn? I mean, just 6% interest is $12 million a year. Imagine the incredible things you could do in this area and NEVER TOUCH THE PRINCIPAL. Just a thought...

I still find it incredible that no political or community leadership does not rise up and demand certain basics from davenport and ashby. YMCA for starters

Of course it's incredible, but the fear shown by these elected officials shows you just how ruthless these Bank Boys are. The people on City Council are, for the most part, generous souls who are willing to give their time and energy to making this a better community. All Ashby, Davenport, Barkhouser, Majors and Motley want is money, money, money--and they will crush anyone who gets in their way. (Just imagine what they can do to someone's credit, or how they can call in weak loans.) The people on Council just are not up to the brute force of these men who hijacked the hospital and sold it.

It's really exciting that this well-run, informative blog has gone national. It gives folks everywhere a chance to see the truth about LifePoint. At one point this evening, just look at the places that were on this site:

Nashville, Tennessee

Plano, Texas

Irving, Texas

Mckinney, Texas

Estill Springs, Tennessee

Brentwood, Tennessee

Roanoke, Virginia

Nashville, Tennessee

It's great to get the word out about LifePoint, but I wonder why folks in these places are interested?

THIS BLOG OUGHT TO BE SUED FOR HAVING THIS INSULTING STUFF ABOUT GREAT COMMUNITY LEADERS AND GIVERS LIKE THE MEN WHO HAVE DONE THERE ABSOLUTE BEST TO SERVE THE PEOPLE OF THIS AREA. THEY WERE ABLE TO THINK OUTSIDE THE BOX AND COME UP WITH A SOLUTION. THE HOSPITAL WOULD PROBABLY BE CLOSED BY NOW IF THEY HAD NOT STEPPED IN AND TAKKEN STEPS. IT'S TIME TO QUIT INSUKLTING THEM AND GIVE THEM CREDIT FOR WHAT THEY DID FOR US. AND YOU SHOULD NOT BE SURPRISED IF THEY SUE YOU FOR SOME THINGS THAT HAVE BEEN SAID ABOUT THEM!!!!!

I find it interesting that any business that had a $12 million profit in 2004 could be out of business in less than 2 yrs. But hey, who am I to question the wisdom of our great and charitable boys at the bank?

So the "health foundation" has $200 million in the bank and the Free Clinic is begging for scraps. Good thing DRMC stepped in with that $5K donation eh?
Before Mr. ALL CAPS jumps on his soapbox, tell me how the danville region foundation is truly serving our area if this situation is happening? How many people would never even show up at the ER door if they had a free clinic to go to instead??? Yeah, the leadership is real benevolent on this one. Just the interest on the interest on $200 million could transform this situation.

Fyi..in addition to the $5,000, DRMC does donate a lot of supplies and services. This was just the first time the hospital had ever made a cash donation.

When will the next round of awarded money be given out from the foundation? Any ideas where it may go? Since the hospital is long gone, can we use any of it to assist in providing healthcare to the community, especially the ones with NO means to pay for health care? I don't care if lifepoint drops off a cliff, but I do care a great deal about the patients and staff, is there another alternative that does not put money in the pockets of a big corporation?Biker.

Ye GADS...the nonsense herein just is never ending.

Funny, that is what we say about DRMC everyday since June 2005..same as the above poster.

Mr All Caps: this is precisely the problem. rise up the plantation is closed. you are free master ashby and master majors are not in charge anymore. you live in America not Danville. Bank anywhere you want without fear. How sad that you think the sale of the hospital saved the day. What a joke? Lpnt doesn't even believe that, they know they got had by the slicksters scuse me "the boys at the bank"--- no one ever said they were dumb.

How can one be sued for the truth. The truth being that just a few members of the board managed to screw the whole community. And yes, in many ways the money from the foundation benefit each of these individuals. So all Caps did they think outside the box. I don't think so, they spend to much time thinking about the money and community they screwed. We give them no credit..... Bank elsewhere, buy ord elswwhere, and move if your energy is provided buy a crook.
