How about a little good news?

Regardless of how you feel about LifePoint, The Deal, or any of the other issues discussed on this blog, there is a good opportunity to visit the hospital and show your support for the employees there. Drop by later this week for the open house of the new fifth floor in the “A” building. This is a landmark occasion as yet another unit can be moved out of an older building. Plus, a lot of employees have been working extra hard to make the open house possible.

Times are 5 – 7 pm Friday, 9am – 12 noon on Saturday, and 12 noon – 3pm on Sunday.

The R&B did an article about the unit and the open house:

It’s been quite a few years since we celebrated the grand opening of the A building and the new front entrance, so stop in and see what’s new.

All that said but where are the nurses to take care of the patients on this nice new floor. The fact is there are less nurses which equates to less time with each patient. This equals DISASTER!

Today's top story in the Danville Register is an insult to the community. The story is all the same stuff Doloresco told about at City Council--the same stuff reported the next day in the newspaper.

I can hear the conversation now:

Doloresco: "Listen, We've given you guys tens of thousands of dollars in ads, and that's gonna stop if you don't put our ER results all over your front page."

DRB: "But we've had all that stuff, and no one believes it anyway."

Doloresco: "I don't care! I want it on the front page big if you ever hope to have any more advertising money from us!"

DRB: "Yassuh Boss!"

Overheard in a Danville retail spot Thursday: a DRMC department was closed today, employees therein terminated. Or did I misunderstand the conversation, thus much ado about nothing?

I also heard that. Someone said it was the Pain Clinic. Another "cost effective" closure for Lifepoint!

Drove by hospital and looked around. First time since big sale. Figured things not really changed much, expected traffic jam like before. Nope, empty-looking parking lots & building. Nobody in sight, not many cars. People, bus, employees, visitors, all gone. What's the deal? Less patients? I guess less employees? What about visitors? Felt strange. Maybe talked about it on another page? Went to hospital website. Checked events. Nothing since sale. Looks like it stopped short never to go again when the old man died. RipVW

It's not complicated. Lifepoint has swapped all the natural energy of a thriving enterprise like a community hospital for the cold calculations of money, money, money. The people who made this happen care not about people--just money. Same with Lifepoint.

Nothing will be different until Lifepoint grabs off what it can and heads for the hills.

Sorry to hear that. Place reminded me of when I was little, morning after foxes cleaned out the henhouse. Eery. RipVW

Anyone who thinks Doloresco is moving to Danville is nuts. He's a hired hand passing through. Has anyone checked Phoenix real estate listings to see if his house there is even on the market as a pretense?
