The local newspapers can really pick some humdingers to print on the Opinion page. They refuse to print anything "inflammatory" against the hospital even when it is true. But send them something like Tate did and it goes right in.

OKAY THAT SETTLES IT. IF THE GUY IN DOCTER SMITH'S POSITION DOES NOT KNOW WHATS GOING ON NOBODY DOES. I THINK YOU SHOULD CLOSE DOWN THIS WHOLE THING, MAKE THE NEWSPAPER SHUT UP, AND GET ON WITH THE BUSINESS OF THE PEOPLE OF DANVILLE AND THE COUNTY. THIS MESS HAS GONE ON LONG ENOUGH.

Dr. Smith is a joke. He has a hidden agenda here. Also, Art has suggested that many of the physicians as well as management write letters to the editor in support of the hospital.

Dr. Smith is a nice guy but is spineless. He is basically a "yes" man and likes to pretend that everything fine.

Dr. Smith knows what's going on but he has his own agenda. He doesn't even work for the hospital he is contracted out by a management company. I don't understand why he even has a voice. in the hospital, it has been under his medical direction that the ED has had such a bad name and poor quality of service, just ask your family, or your nieghbor about their experiance in DRMC ED. I am sure you will get as many horror stories as you care to hear. It is time we get rid of the "yes men" at the hospital, and get some people in there that really care, and want to provide the best service possible.

Allcaps,
You obviously don't work at DRMC, do you?

Anonymous said...

ALL CAPS, you sure are quick to jump in on any "positive" thing that is printed without even considering whether it is the truth or not. This man doesn't even work for the hospital, but he did accept head of the Medical Staff because no one else was stupid enough to do it. What Dr. of integrity would stand behind these crooks, liars and cheats? I guess only the crooks, liars and cheats that sold DRMC to lfpt.

I agree, It doesn't matter how long you've done something if you've done it wrong or poorly then the net experience is null and void.
If you are a "yes man" and don't have the spine to stand up for what you know is true then you should either leave or be silent and wait for the company to tell you what to do and since the company (LPNT) only cares about an ER wait time and not the quality of care I guess we know what they care about, MONEY.

Ah yes, ALL CAPS the premiere omnipotent jackass here to save us all.Sorry I've been holding that back for a while.Did you ever stop to think that the people telling you these things are all highly educated employees radiology,RN's, secretarial, and many many other disciplines from several different locations within the hospital.WE are not one or two people who have no vested interest in this hospital. 99% of the people saying "it's all OK" either do not work for the Hospital (Dr Smith) or are not even in the area(Artie et Al.)This mess has not gone on long enough, The hospital needs to be affiliated with a non-profit, more specifically a non-profit teaching hospital and the money sucking sweat shop mentality of LPNT needs to go. CEO's that get bonuses for a lack of performance i.e. LOSING ACCREDITATION is abominable. The employees did not lose the accreditation, The crooks that sold and bought it did by tying our hands. Imagine if the employees got bonuses like CEO's, instead we can now only get 1/3 to 1/2 of the % PERFORMANCE bonus that we were able to ACHEIVE. Lets see:The CEO's of lifepoint have laid off employees run off employees and fired employees cut bonuses for staff increased the workload and risked the lives of thousands of people all while alienating the community and "buying" the newspaper. They still get a HUGE bonus (which can be looked up on line)If they were gone the worst that could happen is they would be gone.A bad day for them means nothing, and if they don't finish an errand do it tomorrow. We have had our retention and periodic bonuses taken away our workload increased and our achievable PERFORMANCE BASED bonuses cut, and if we have a bad day our friends and families DIE. This corporation is the absolute definition of what is wrong with corporate america and the U.S. in general.

YOU TALK BIG, BUT IF YOU WERE ON THE INSIDE YOUD BE HAPPY AS A PIG IN MUD. NOT A ONE OF YOU CONTRIBUTES TO THIS COMMUNITY WITH JOBS AND WISDOM. YOU JUST LOOK FOR WHAT YOU CAN GET OUT OF IT. MAYBE DRMC HAS A FEW PROBLEMS, SO IF YOU DONT LIKE IT, YOU CAN GO SOMEWHERE ELSE TO THESE OTHER PLACES YOU CLAIM ARE SO GOOD. YOU KEEP CALLING ME ALLCAPS, AND THAT'S BECAUSE I HAVE A ISSUE WITH MY EYES AS WELL AS THE EMAIL I TYPE ON THAT WONT TYPE LITTLE LETTERS. MY OPINION REPRESENTS WAY WAY MORE PEOPLE THAN ALL YOU PUT TOGETHER. ITS TIME TO FORGET AND MOVE ON AND ENJOY THE FRUITS OF THE SALE THAT THE 200MILLION WILL BRING US. YOU ARE VERY LUCKY THESE PEOPLE YOU TALK ABOUT DONT SUE YOU BUT THEY ARE ABOVE IT. NEGATIVE ATTUDES NEVER GOT ANYBODY ANYWHERE. WE NEED VISION AND FORSIGHT NOW MORE THAN EVER. I SAY WE MOVE ON NOW AND STOP ALL THIS GRIPPING AND COMPLAINING.

"This mess", as allcaps calls it, has gone on long enough. But it has not gone on far enough, "this mess" needs to extend itself on into the board room of American National Bank. "This mess" needs to latch on to the reputations of the boys at the bank and spill over into their lives everyday as it has ours. "This mess" has accomplished something, it has united the concerned citizens of this area. It has shown the intelligence, fortitude and sense of duty that the people of this area possess. An accomplishment that the boys at the bank never anticipated. Dixie Doss

OK ALLCAPS, lets see if you can back up what you say. If in fact, "MY OPINION REPRESENTS WAY WAY MORE PEOPLE THAN ALL YOU PUT TOGETHER." Post your name and then we can see who you really represent. Since you are definitely in the minority on this blog and on the post to the Citizens Commission board (before it was taken down), prove you are the lone voice for the majority. If in fact you represent the majority I will be more than willing to sit back and allow "this mess" to work itself out without further comment, otherwise I feel a responsibility to offer facts and opinions I find noteworthy.

ALL CAPS,
You cannot be sued for liable or slander for speaking and writing truths that have been discovered under the Freedom of information act. Also, you should always know your audience in an arguement, the people that you state "would be happy as a pig in mud if they were on the inside", are on the inside and we have contributed. We are college graduates,Danville Life Saving Crew members,Volunteer firefighters Big Brothers Big Sisters,Habitat for Humanity, Church Deacons and Educators, mothers fathers and above all else MEDICAL and BUSINESS PROFESSIONALS. There are no fruits to enjoy from the sale nor will there be the money , based on Lifepoints Government recorded history will be needed to save the medical facility for the city of Danville after Lifepoint finishes bleeding the money from it, Do a little research. Oh and as far as the wisdom WE have many many years of practice and some of us have specialized training bachelors, masters and PhD degrees in medicine, nursing, computers, law and oh yeah business.

I KNOW IM RIGHT AND DONT NEED TO BE BOTHERED BY YOU PEOPLE. IM NOT COMMENTING ON THIS ISSUE ANY MORE BECAUSE I KNOW WISDOM AND FORSIGHT WHEN I SEE IT AND YOU DON'T HAVE IT. ILL GO WITH WISDOM AND FORSIGHT EVEREY TIME. NOT NONSENSE LIKE YOU ARE PUSHING.

I think I'm going to make a comment that THE MAJORITY OF the DEDICATED and highly trained employees posting on this sight will agree with: GOOD RIDDANCE and take your PRECIOUS LIFEPOINT with you. THE END

Working at DRMC, I see very few people who are happy. We lost good IT systems, we lost good people who were very knowledgable and skilled, we lost a decent merit raise plan,...well, the list goes on. I am not happy as a pig in mud. I am demoralized and very tired.

I am new to reading this blog about DRMC. How did the bank boys benefit from the sale of DRMC. Are the assets of the new foundation set up through American Bank and Trust?

Anonymous said...

It has been reported that the "boys " received 750,000 each, There was a valid reference for proof does anyone remember where it was linked.

Anonymous said...

Here there is talk of Union conversations secretly underway with staff on the Telemetry unit?

Any truth?

The only reason that the money is NOT at ANB is because of the SEC. The members of the Board at the Bank appointed themselves as Board members over the $200 million. These same 5 "men" along with a local DR. sold us out behind our backs. And they still control the bucks and will not step up and try to straighten out their mistake.

Anonymous said...

I am not saying that the $750k payment is not true, but I find it very hard to believe that the government would allow $3.75 million to be paid to board members to allow for a sale. That is a lot of money and despite how legal or illegal such a payment may be, it would not be allowed (maybe in Russia or China). Again, I am not basing this statement on any documents I have seen, but find it hard to believe. I think the most the SEC would allow is if ANB held the assets of the sale. Not trying to stir up the pot, so jump down the throat, it just does not pass the "smell" test.

Anonymous said...

To the person with ??? about what the SEC would allow without much issue, they did allow the sale of the facility to begin with.

Anonymous said...

SEC allows almost every hospital to be sold, I am not questioning that issue, just the statement that 5 board members were paid $750k.

Anonymous said...

The SEC (security exchange commission) doesn't have anything to do with the selling of DRMC. They have more to do with the stock issued by the buyer of the hospital. The SEC allows hospitals that have been sold and privatized to then be assets of publicly held companies. The SEC monitors illegal dealings with publicly traded companies. Money put in ANB from the sale would be considered a "conflict of interest" because the filthy five turned the hospital into money that they could control but not hold.
