Lab update?

It's been a month since I posted the information from "danvillenewsandviews" regarding the status of the lab.
http://danvillenewsandviews.com/index.php/site/ask_drmc/is_drmc_closing_its_laboratory/

So, what is the latest word on the lab? How is the review process going and what impact will it have on lab staff, hospital services and patients/customers?

Sorry to post this here but how about a discussion on the amount of "power" that one certain JCAHO consultant has at DRMC.Does the CNO bow down to her or what? Does she control Jerel and Mark, too?

Everbody here needs to thank their lucky stars she is here. If it were not for her, DRMC would never have passed the last survey and would never be ready for the next one with all of the new standards. So obviously whoever is trying to be negative about her has NO idea what they are writing about

Beverly Washington is the lady's name and DRMC is indebted to her for the wealth of knowledge she has shared and the success we had with JCAHO because of her.
However, Beverly didn't do it all by herself and she would be the first to tell one that.Too, she would tell you also, WE AT DRMC must maintain the success and WE MUST OWN the responsibility of keeping things on track because she will leave DRMC one day.

Copied and pasted from another thread on this blog:

"The lab underwent major cut backs (just a glorified "lay-off") this past week. The direct result of lifepoint corporate not understanding what it takes to operate a lab in a hospital our size.

All attempts of our lab director (kudos to Peggy Simpson) to show how our lab operates and to explain our potential to generate more money fell on deaf ears as the idiots of lifepoint corporate issued unrealistic staffing standards and ultimatums to meet the standard or be replaced.

Vacated positions will not be filled, all PRN staff were removed from the schedule effective last week, LabCare was down-sized significantly and a 38 year veteran lost his job Monday.

Stay tuned... the ripple effects of these changes will continue for some time."
