Irony?

LPNT sponsored a program on accountability here in Danville yesterday...

"Answers to the right questions"

I think Mr. Miller's books should be required reading.

I read through the QBQ website...I like this quote...

"We give up control when we ask 'why me?'
Empower yourself by asking 'how can i make a difference?'"

Or this one:
"Leadership is not about title, tenure or position. It's the moment-to-moment disciplining of our thinking.
Are you a leader? Think about it."

Thats ironic...kinda like the fox holding a seminar on hen house security.

How much more stupidity and spin do we have to endure ?????????

Miller may be a sharp motivator, but all the motivation in the world doesn't alter the facts of a forced marriage and a highly abusive relationship, which is what we've got in Lifepoint and DRMC.

The usual advice given to the victim of abuse in a relationship is, "Get out." Unfortunately, it's not always easy to do that, for DRMC patients OR staff.

Why does lifepoint waste so much money on prn workers, consultants, motivational speakers and public relations firms? All they need to do is take care of their employees, who will in return take care of the patients, who will in return recommend DRMC to others, who in return will bring in more business and then the ink on the bottom line will be black. KISS.

What you propose is actually a basic principle of business. The Hospital was profitable before LPNT bought it , this in turn should have been a no brainer for the new owners , but, obviously the lifepoint gang either payed no attention in college or as is fairly obvious they would rather pad their pockets at the expense, sweat, pride, and SAFETY of others. The most succesful non hospital corporations adhere to the principle that you describe. As has been discussed before, hospitals are best left to non-profit.
Lifepoint seems to be operating on principles that the City of Danville and Dan River Industries had used for decades, keep them undereducated, uncoordinated, underpayed,in the dark and feed them a load of crap(misinformation). This is otherwise known as the mushroom principle: Keep them in the dark and feed them a load of bs.
The problem is people are now info and tech savy, you can sniff out a lie in a hurry these days. All corporate misgivings are now easily attainable with a click of the mouse. For example the comments of "It's a private matter"
When the community called him on this, all of the sudden it's not what he said, Oh I mean "Not what I meant". The spin goes on .
It would have been nice if the So called "business leaders" responsible for this would have done the research that any 10 year old could have done with mom and dad's computer before they destroyed what's left of Danville. But they've had decades to improve Danville with their so-called wealth of expertise and have managed to do nothing but make themselves richer and risk the lives of our community and Danville's future , what's left of it.

Brainwashing pure and simple. Anybody here ever go through US military training on how to resist brainwashing as a POW? Your captors want your cooperation. Name, rank, serial number. Period.

As used by these clowns, "accountability" is a back---ward definition, meaning "resigned to the situation." REAL "accountability" is what Lifepoint execs are missing, what the Filthy Five are missing, what their IALR is missing (anybody noticed the salaries they're paying their buds and family members over there, again out of OUR money?).

Barney Fife, Deputy,BR549
You are absolutely right .
Try to make us and everyone else believe it's our fault for their lack of caring and business savy ,or just to cover their GREED......

Danville is as Danville does.
Historically -POORLY , in spite of 2 colleges and a seriously hard working workforce.

The last remark really hits home doesn't it. At least that is the way it was the entire 30 years I lived there. Now , as I contemplate returning to live from time to time, I don't have to look far (and DRMC plays no factor in my decision) to know Danville holds no future for most anyone.
